So...I have known for a while that I was going to go home for Thanksgiving. At least longer than my family knew. My goal was to surprise all of them and I did just that! It was perfect! I knew my plan was really going to work when my mom sent me White Christmas. This might not make sense to you, but it is our family tradition to watch White Christmas every Thanksgiving. We are welcoming Christmas in with Bing Crosby and the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade. It is wonderful!
Anyway, this past Saturday I left Charlotte, NC at 5:30 in the morning and I drove. I drove and drove and drove. And then I had lunch and I drove some more. Fourteen hours later I finally arrived in beautiful Grand Haven! Yay! I got out of the car and it smelled so good, like pine trees and fall leaves and cold water. I could hear the waves of the most glorious lake in the world and I could feel the sand under my feet.
I walked up to the door and I saw that only Isaac was home. I knocked on the door and he pulled the blinds up and stared at me in shock. He flung the door open and gave me a HUGE hug and then he said "I don't think I have ever been this excited to see you"! It was fun. Then we started planning how to surprise my parents and grandparents. We hid the car, and I hid in Isaac's room with my camera ready to film. It took them a really long time to get back. When they finally did arrive, Isaac went out to distract them and then I made my grand entrance. This is their reaction. I think it is hilarious! Enjoy!

As you can see, they are really happy that I made it home. They just keep thanking me for doing this. I am so glad to be home. I really needed to do this and I am enjoying being around my entire family for this holiday. I could go on, but I am sure you get the point by now. I love my family, and being around them. It does the heart good to be around a group of people that really truly love you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I know I will!
I think your mom was in shock for a moment there. So, when is your surprise visit to Elgin and then Racine??
